About: Gapsted

Gapsted Wines began in 1996 as a collaboration of seven friends who had extensive experience in the industry and a passion for the place; the King and Alpine Valleys in Victoria. The owners, Shayne Cunningham (winemaker) and John Cavedon (grower), believe in creating the very best cool climate red and white wines without ever resorting to the common practice of creating a generic taste of wine year in and year out. Each vintage produced by Gapsted is intentionally different, with its own specific personality and distinctive flavour. The first wines released under the Gapsted label went out in 1999 and the winery has only grown since then with the capability to crush 11 000 tons and store 9 million litres!
