This drop is driven by a very appealing zippy brightness and fruit characters. The early cantaloupe tang mingles well with the lychee, apricot and fleshy peach notes, as well as some toasty fresh cashews and soft vanillins. Creamy elegance and a tight acid finish are characteristic of the Great Southern Region. Breath and enjoy now, or allow the complexity to enhance over the next 2-4 years.
Some of the awards that this wine has been picking up
James Kellie was initially a contracted winemaker for Harewood but in 2003 made the decision to buy the company in his own right. Kellie says that it was a 'nerve-racking time' but the decision to take over Harewood has ultimately been rewarding as the estate has had incredible growth in size, now a 500-tonne winery, and success with an amazingly high standard of quality grapes. At last count, Harewood has won literally hundreds of medals, 31 national and international trophies, and received 5 Stars from James Halliday for 10 consecutive years, including the very impressive 5 Red Star rating since its first year of conception. Kellie hasn't let success go to his head however and says the aim of Harewood Estate is the same as it's always been; to represent the very best of the Great Southern region.
