Very impressive body, with dark fruits and a touch of warm spice. The bead is fine and prolific, packing some lovely acidity with a gentle sweetness.
Some of the awards that this wine has been picking up
Established in 1981, the Haselgrove family produced wines in many locations in South Australia before building the 'Home of Haselgrove' winery in 1999. The winery, in its present form, has retained the Haselgrove name and the old family's connection to the Celtic beliefs that circulated Hazel trees, especially their deep link to the earth. The tree also had a place in the Celtic Calendar signifying Knowledge, Honesty, Purity and Creativity; values that the Haselgrove Estate now strives to embody. Each wine that this winery produces has a connection to these old stories, and each has been given a sense of place as derived from the Haselgrove's traditional beliefs. Haselgrove utilises small batch production, which allows only small, individual parcels of fruit to be blended and so is able to display the complete terroir of the vineyard and all the seasonal variations. Because of this, Haselgrove wines are often deeply complex, bursting with mouthfilling flavours and captivating aromas.
