About This Wine

Deep and dark with a ruby hue. Blackberry and cassis aromas with hints of toasty oak. Brooding mulberry and plum mingle harmoniously with herbaceous notes and well integrated oak. A great length of palate with dusty fine grained tannins. Pair with hearty casseroles. More toasty bottle age will develop over the next 7 years.

About: Vinrock

Luca Vineyard was established in 1998 by Don Luca, but it wasn't until 2004 that the winery moved away from contracted work and began producing wine under their own, very personal, label. That same label actually shows Don planting the very first Shiraz cutting, back in 1998 at the beginning of it all. This is demonstrative of Luca Vineyard's deeply rooted philosophy of simple appreciation for the place and it's people; "we grow to the strength of the region". The Vineyard works towards lower yields with higher quality, and always towards more sustainable viticultural practices and a very proud regional air. Under the Luca Vineyard winemaker, Michael Fragos, the recognition of Luca wines has grown, year by year, as their vines have.
