About This Wine

Deep dark garnet in colour. Aromas of black cherries and liquorice with savoury notes. Rich berry sweetness and firm juicy tannins with intense raspberry mid palate on the second glass. Some toasty oak nuances and a warm spicey finish. Already showing texture and substance but allow to breathe if drinking now or cellar for 5-7 years. Pair with braised lamb shanks in red wine.

About: Vinrock

Luca Vineyard was established in 1998 by Don Luca, but it wasn't until 2004 that the winery moved away from contracted work and began producing wine under their own, very personal, label. That same label actually shows Don planting the very first Shiraz cutting, back in 1998 at the beginning of it all. This is demonstrative of Luca Vineyard's deeply rooted philosophy of simple appreciation for the place and it's people; "we grow to the strength of the region". The Vineyard works towards lower yields with higher quality, and always towards more sustainable viticultural practices and a very proud regional air. Under the Luca Vineyard winemaker, Michael Fragos, the recognition of Luca wines has grown, year by year, as their vines have.
