A family owned and operated wine company. Pale salmon pink in colour with a lovely bouquet of red berries and melon with a hint of citrus. A well balanced palate of raspberry, watermelon, rhubarb and citrus flavours with a clean dry finish. 12.2% Alc/Vol.
Windowrie is a family owned and operated wine company, first established in 1987 about 26km from Cowra by David and Wizz O'Dea. The initial planting of 60 acres was divided into 'traditional' and 'non traditional' varieties; the usual varieties of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Shiraz, Cabernet and Merlot, as well as Tempranillo, Sangiovese, Verdelho, Chenin Blanc, and Petit Verdot grapes. The vineyard, expanded to 150 acred in 1991, is now almost completely certified organic, with some parts still in conversion, and the O'Dea family practices a belief in minimal intervention to limit their environmental footprint.
