Some of the awards that this wine has been picking up
The Rockcliffe Winery has been in production since 1980, but has only been known as 'Rockcliffe' since 2013. Originally Matilda's Meadow, the estate was settled by a family that began by planting dry grown vines. In 2007 the winery was completely rebuilt into a state of the art facility, capable of producing 50 000 cases of wine per year, and this marked the beginning of an evolutionary moment for the estate as they entered a new stage in brand and business. The name 'Rockcliffe' was chosen as a nod to the 100m high granite cliffs that overlook the Eastern end of Denmark's main bay. This same granite is what lies beneath the winery and is responsible for the wine's distinctive flavour and characteristics. Rockcliffe both produces its own wine (under the names Single Site, Third Reef, Quarram Rocks and Rivage) and acts as a modern contract winery business. Rockcliffe is absolutely devout in maintaining the integrity of the growers grapes; there is no mixing batches at Rockcliffe Wines!
