Light pink blush in colour. Custard apple, white peach and lifted citrus on the nose. A rich creamy palate well integrated with a hints of lemon zest, delicate acidity and a lingering pear finish. Serve with pate and cheese.
Back in 1993 Geoff Hardy, having noticed the outstanding quality of the grapes produced in the area, brought together a group of wine loving friends to purchase the 430 acre property near Mundulla in South Australia. The circle of friends included Scott Collett, Rocco Melino, Roger Oakeshott, Grant Tilbrook, John Younger and Guido Zuccoli. Wirrega was the name of an Aboriginal clan comprising 8 or so groups of the Jackegilbrab tribe. They inhabited the district, living sustainably on the bountiful land that grows huge gum trees.
